I'm a data-driven user experience professional who values proven process, strategy, and vision.
My first love has always been library science. Thus, information architecture was my logical starting point.
I began my online career back when the "Information Super Highway" was just a dusty backroad. At the time of ARPAnet and Gopherspace, I was designing Vax and Unix menu systems for Indiana University.
From there, I traveled the Web far and wide with layovers in academia, agency work (both B2C and B2B), fortune 500, insurance, consumer retail, and finance. My seasoned approach has a proven track record of success – from tiny start ups with venture capitalists, to major initiatives for giants in their industry.
Along the way, I’ve earned several badges:
• User Experience /Information Architecture
• UX Researcher
• Technical Writer/Content Strategist
• Designer/Code Developer
• Manager and Project Lead
...often performing all these positions simultaneously.
Proficiency in:
• Rapid prototyping in Axure RP, Sketch/Invision, Mural, Figma, iRise
• Ms Office Suite
• Adobe Creative Suite
• OmniGraffle
• Visio (but I occassionally deny it)
• Born to be an efficiency expert
• Make logic happen
• Provide familiarity, grace and the occasional element of delight
• Pass the baton of my experience & guide tomorrow’s leaders
I grew up in Gary, Indiana at the height of Motown. After college I've lived in Cincinnati, Chicago, Pearl Harbor, and now reside in the western suburbs of Atlanta, Georgia.
I've been with my wonderful husband, Dennis, for 21 years (married for 5). He worked for Georgia Pacific but has been fortunate to recently retire.
We have a son, Derek, who lives in Newport Beach with his lovely wife Amy.
We also have two beautiful German Short Hair Pointers (Amber and Chase) who are a HANDFUL.
I'm proud to say that my acrylic paintings are hanging in public and private collections from California to Saudi Arabia. Check out my work here:
I play piano and ukulele. Don't laugh at the uke... it's a beautiful instrument and very under rated!
